This is a call to action for anyone who can help to save a life! I don’t ask or tell you this lightly…there is a woman who needs our help, and we have the opportunity to make a difference that truly matters. I received this message and am passing it along with hopes that you will pass it along until a true hero is found.
Gail Jasne needs a LIVING DONOR for her end-stage liver disease due to Non-Alcoholic SteatoHepatitis (NASH.) The Donor Candidate requirements are as follows:
- B or O blood type
- Physically healthy
- 18-59 years old
- Mentally healthy
Living Donors do not need medication beyond a few weeks and may resume all activities after recuperation. Their liver will generate to full-size in about 12 weeks.
I know this is a huge request that can make a huge difference to Gail and her family and friends. In college, she was diagnosed with colon and thyroid cancer, and they were treated successfully with surgeries, including an Ileostomy, Whipple, and Thyroid removal. Told she had a fatty liver, but that it was “nothing to worry about” she did just that…not worry. It progressed to NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) and has now reached NASH. Gail has very few options at this point, and a living donor would be the best answer for her to resume a healthy and long life.
