Self Image and the Ostomate
I had never heard that expression until my daughter, Emily, an Executive Coach filled with positivity and belief that all is possible, said it to me. The expression has been on my mind ever since. And not because I always believe in the power of “Yes!” It is more because I am frequently met with “No,” and love the possibilities that abound upon hearing it.
Recently, I was at my favorite spot and ran into a woman from town having lunch with her friend. The friend commented on my ensemble of a tunic, capri pants and fun shoes. As I thanked her for her compliment, she began to weep, and I immediately reached down to comfort her. I had no idea the reason for her tears, but seeing her sadness made me want to help. I had no idea how much help I could actually offer…
Having a December birthday always creates a difficulty for celebrating. There are only so many days in the month, so many weekends, so many evenings, and so many times when others are not involved, well, celebrating! My grandson and granddaughter join me in having December birthdays, as well as many friends. It is a good month, an important month, and an incredibly busy and a beautiful month, despite the possibility of evil weather and utter exhaustion.
